OK Highway Patrol Captain George Brown says the best “tip” for women to not get raped by a cop is to “follow the law in the first place so you don’t get pulled over.”http://youtu.be/BO8g8akPWcY (Last third of the video).
Three serial rapists in 3 weeks arrested in Oklahoma, all cops.

Pro tip: if you’re signaled to pull over (whether you’re male or female) and you’re in a place that has no witnesses, turn your hazard lights on to acknowledge the officer’s siren, and drive to the nearest gas station or populated area. This is accepted protocol by every agency. You are not obligated pull over until you can do so safely. This includes personal safety. Understand your rights, brothers and sisters. There are disgusting examples of authority in this world.

^^^^^^^^^ YES DO THIS PLEASE.
This is not the first time that people have been victimized either by acting police officers or psychos pretending to be police officers.
If you are unsure, keep your doors locked and only roll down the window enough to pass your papers to the officer. You have the right to call 911 once you’re stopped and ask dispatch to confirm that the officer who pulled you over reported what he was doing.
This is a real danger and if you aren’t in danger, the officer won’t try to order you to compromise your safety.

There is an incredible discussion happening in the comments of my last video, Dear Sam Pepper, about Nerdfighteria, morality and what role the Vlogbrothers play in all that. Hank Green stopped by to give his take earlier (above), and John shared his thoughts on Twitter. I was delighted to hear from them, but even more impressed by the thoughtful and reasoned arguments viewers have been posting in that comments section. I’ve always said I have the best commenters on YT. This kind of engagement means so much to me.

things to remember

  • don’t be angry at yourself when anxiety/depression flares up. it isn’t your fault and no one blames you and if they do they’re pieces of shit.
  • don’t orbit around your perceived value so much. you’re not the sum total of what you produce.
  • don’t let yourself wonder why people love you. that’s not how it works. there are not stark, individual reasons that a person can enumerate about why they love you. it’s the entire, unique combination of what and who you are.

Doesn’t that look beautiful?

Like something you’d find on one of those soft/pale/rosy/grunge blogs?

Well nothing too rosy on my blog.

The Bolton Strid in England is one of the most innocent looking streams.

Though it looks like you could just hop across the rocks, but if you miss you will die for sure. It packs very rapid currents just a couple of feet below its surface. No one really knows how deep it really is. Nobody who has ever fallen into the Strid has survived. It has a 100% fatality rate.

It’s always the things I google expecting to be false that wind up being horribly true.

SOURCE

"It’s relatively common for people to assume they can jump the creek, walk across its stones or even wade through it (again, just looking at it, the Strid really seems to be only knee-deep in places, and certainly not the instant, precipitous drop into a watery grave that it is). Most of the time, they never even find the body. Which means there are just dozens of corpses down there, pinned to the walls of the underground chasms, waiting for you to join them…"

5-Year-Old With Autism Paints Stunning Masterpieces

Autism is a poorly-understood neurological disorder that can impair an individual’s ability to engage in various social interactions. But little 5-year-old Iris Grace in the UK is an excellent example of the unexpected gifts that autism can also grant – her exceptional focus and attention to detail have helped her create incredibly beautiful paintings that many of her fans (and buyers) have likened to Monet’s works.

Little Iris is slowly learning to speak, whereas most children have already begun to speak at least a few words by age 2. Along with speech therapy, her parents gradually introduced her to painting, which is when they discovered her amazing talent.

“We have been encouraging Iris to paint to help with speech therapy, joint attention and turn taking,” her mother, Arabella Carter-Johnson, explains on her website. “Then we realised that she is actually really talented and has an incredible concentration span of around 2 hours each time she paints. Her autism has created a style of painting which I have never seen in a child of her age, she has an understanding of colours and how they interact with each other.”

Much better version of the same subject matter I posted earlier.
